Rwanda and DRC Submit Peace Agreement Drafts to US

Rwanda's Foreign Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe announced that both Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have submitted peace agreement drafts to the US to end the conflict involving the M23 rebel group in eastern Congo.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda, Olivier Nduhungirehe, informed that Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) have submitted drafts of a peace agreement to the Government of the United States to end the conflict in eastern Congo with the rebel group Movement 23.

According to Nduhungirehe, the delivery of these drafts is an important step towards resolving the conflict in the region. Rwanda and the DRC have worked together to address the situation in the eastern part of the neighboring country and seek a peaceful solution.

The minister emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and diplomacy to achieve stability in the region and move towards lasting peace. Moreover, he highlighted Rwanda's commitment to contributing to peace and development in the Great Lakes region.

In the words of Olivier Nduhungirehe: "I am convinced that the path to peace in eastern DRC is possible if all involved parties commit to dialogue and the peaceful resolution of differences."
